Student registration and information for new graduates

Welcome to the chiropractic profession

This video is most relevant to chiropractic students who are nearing the completion of their approved program of study in Australia and will soon be seeking general registration as a chiropractor.

The following information is for current chiropractic students

If you are enrolled in an approved program of study, you do not need to apply for student registration. Education providers will pass on your details to the Chiropractic Board of Australia for registration.

The Board will register you for the duration of study or clinical training in chiropractic, or until you are no longer enrolled.

There are no fees for student registration.

The following information is for graduating chiropractic students

Graduates of approved programs of study need to be registered with the Board before they can start working as a chiropractor.

If you’re about to graduate or have recently graduated from your course, you can apply for registration now. The first step is to set up your Ahpra portal and link multifactor authentication.

How to apply in your portal

  1. Set up your Ahpra portal, log in and click ‘Apply for registration’.
  2. Complete your application which includes uploading your certified documents, completing a proof of identity check and paying the required fees.
  3. Wait for your education provider to give your graduate results and enrolment listing to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

Once you've submitted your application, you can track its assessment in your portal.
