Call for applications for health practitioners to join the Chiropractic Board of Australia's list of approved persons for appointment to panels.

The Chiropractic Board of Australia (the National Board) is calling for applications from experienced practising chiropractors with a minimum of three years current and recent practice experience, interested in being included on a List of Approved Persons for appointment to panels to assist the Board in its primary role of protecting the public. The National Board is seeking candidates who reside in the following states and territories:

  • ACT 
  • Northern Territory 
  • South Australia 
  • Tasmania 
  • Victoria 
  • Western Australia

Recruitment in accordance with s183(2) of the National Law, to the extent practicable, will exclude individuals whose residence or principal place of practice is in a co-regulatory jurisdiction (i.e. NSW).

Under the National Law, a National Board convenes health panels and performance and professional standards panels when required to hold hearings into specific health, performance or conduct matters for individual registered health professionals. Such panels consist of members chosen from a National Board approved list of persons.

In selecting candidates for appointment by the Board, the criteria listed in the Application Guide above will be taken into account.

Appointments to the list of approved persons for appointment to panels are for up to three years, with eligibility for re-appointment, and are expected to commence in mid 2014.

Submission requirements are detailed in the Application Form. Applications should be received by 5.00pm AEST on Monday 23 June 2014.
